Which isn't to say there aren't genuinely spooky areas and scary moments. There are ominous, off-screen sounds when you get close to one of Core Keeper's bosses. Breaking through a wall and suddenly seeing you're at the edge of a massive chasm is alarming, and building a narrow bridge across it doesn't feel comfy at all (even though you can't actually fall in).

, you are going to need an arsenal of weapons and armor to survive. Armor and weapons can be crafted and found in chests. Below are all weapons and armor and how to get them.

This is not an achievements guide, but working through all the sections below could bag about half of them.

, players will need to find an egg and build an incubator. Hatching eggs will allow players to acquire pets. These creatures can be equipped in the pet slot, and offer different boosts depending on the active pet species.

Once you’ve crafted the cooking pot at the workbench, you can combine ingredients to make dishes that increase your speed, max health, and even make you glow while they fill your health bar back up.

Food in Core Keeper has two main purposes – keeping you alive by restoring HP and reducing hunger and giving you helpful perks like extra armor or the ability to glow.

10+ hours in so far and 2 bosses defeated, and I haven't been pestered by the stupid bloodmoons, goblin hordes or any trash like that that happens in many other survival crafting games. I've had enemies appear around my base 2-3 times causing minor damage, and that's plenty; enough to give you a reason to think about traps and securing your base, but not so much as to detract from your main goals. So this is a welcome difference that makes me want to keep playing. If you've never played either of the abovementioned games, but think you like the idea of survival crafting and building game, it's excellent for the asking price (especially as it's 50% off on a couple stores), so give it a go. Beautiful graphics; a fun and engaging gameplay loop of exploring, collecting resources and building; easy to jump into and back out of on your own time, and great fun either solo or with a friend(s).

alone, one of its biggest selling points is co-op. There can Core Keeper Gameplay be up to eight players in the on-line multiplayer mix, which I’d probably save for a later date. I don’t necessarily think it’s time to go all-in on Core Keeper

The melee (and ranged) combat system is fast and hard-hitting, and it gets the job done; I don’t really have any complaints. It’s more enjoyable than swatting down bats and mummies in Stardew Valley

If you’re playing with friends, it’s a good idea to choose different backgrounds to create a well-rounded adventuring party. Here are the currently available classes in Core Keeper and their starting perks.
